Community Services Worker program is designed for individuals seeking the knowledge and skills to enter the field of social services. Employment opportunities for Community Service Worker exist in child and youth care settings, schools, transition houses, group homes, peer counseling programs, and other social service agencies. This program offers courses in social work theory and practice, counseling skills, life span development and social science.

 

    This course is designed to help develop and strengthen writing skills.It will focus on the planning, writing and editing of essays, memos, letters and reports. It will teach the processes of writing: drafting, analysing and responding to texts and topic statements.There will be four assignments over the course.These are designed to encourage clear and well-organized expression of ideas and information.The Effective Writing course will help to develop each student’s ability to think critically, collaborate with peers and produced cohesive, readable communications.

    This course is a continuation of Communication Skills I (IBD2-102). With the improved English skills acquired in the previous course, students will begin to learn how to create written documents, especially those frequently used in the business world. Students will follow a systematic step-by-step overview of the process of planning, building, and creating good documents.
