Lean Training
Course Description
When more and more companies learn Toyota ’s TPS, apply/adopt Lean Manufacturing methodology and philosophy, lots of people start to ask questions like: What is TPS? Why is Lean so magic? And how can we learn the essence of Lean?
Generally speaking, Lean focus on “waste elimination” and “Less is more”, based on customer order (time and quality requirement), company use shortest lead time, minimum inventory, smallest space, optimized transportation and operator motion, and eliminate overproduction, reduce quality rework and over processing etc to reduce lead time, improve productivity, efficiency and profitability. Lean aims to identify and eliminate traditional seven wastes, apply Value Stream mapping to identify process weakness and bottleneck; use Kanban and visual management to reduce inventory; implement 5S, TPM, Poka-yoke, SMED, line balance, Kaizen etc to stabilize the processes and continuously improve processes. Also Lean focus on people’s involvement and culture change, maximize human’s efficiency, combine human being and machine (JIdoka).
Lean Manufacturing follows customer pull, one piece flow, take time and zero defect principles and Kaizen philosophy to improve value added activity, eliminate non-value activity and reduce non-value added but necessary activity. It focuses on speed, efficiency and customer requirements.
